Thoughts: This is the US cover of Crash Into You (Good timing, I am reading Dare You To, the second book in this series right now!). I am almost 98% sure the Aussie cover will be different, since they’ve changed the covers for both Pushing The Limits and Dare You To. I personally prefer the US covers for all three so far.

I am also REALLY happy that Isaiah is getting his own book! This whole companion series is quite smart. You can read each of the books stand alone, or if you read them as a series you know a bit of their background from the previous books. I love them. :)

Synopsis:

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life-that’s who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers…and she’s just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can’t get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they’ll go to save each other.

Thoughts: This series is up there with the best YA covers in my opinion. They’ve all been really consistent and match really nicely with each other! I loved Incarnate but haven’t yet read Asunder (I will though!). I have until next year though (Probably around January based on the other two releases) to catch up before Infinite comes out. Gorgeous!!!

Synopsis:

DESTRUCTION
The Year of Souls begins with an earthquake—an alarming rumble from deep within the earth—and it’s only the first of greater dangers to come. The Range caldera is preparing to erupt. Ana knows that as Soul Night approaches, everything near Heart will be at risk.

FLIGHT
Ana’s exile is frightening, but it may also be fortuitous, especially if she can convince her friends to flee Heart and Range with her. They’ll go north, seeking answers and allies to stop Janan’s ascension. And with any luck, the newsouls will be safe from harm’s reach.

CHOICE
The oldsouls might have forgotten the choice they made to give themselves limitless lifetimes, but Ana knows the true cost of reincarnation. What she doesn’t know is whether she’ll have the chance to finish this one sweet life with Sam, especially if she returns to Heart to stop Janan once and for all.

With gorgeous romance and thrilling action, the final book in the Incarnate trilogy offers a brilliant conclusion to the compelling questions of this fascinating world, where one new girl is the key to the lives of millions.

Thoughts: WOW!!! Seriously, how amazing is this cover? I got over half way through Splintered and haven’t finished it yet. I hit a slow patch in the book and never quite turned back to it. That being said, I actually did like what I had read of it up until that point. It definitely had some good ideas behind it, and Alice in Wonderland.. hello?! Brilliant!

I love the inspiration behind this cover, with the mad hatter and the moth on the collar there. It’s actually inspiring me to want to finish the first book just so I’ll be able to read Unhinged when it comes out!

The bad news, is that unfortunately we’re not going to be seeing this one on our shelves until like… January 2014. Sad face. It feels so far away! But at least it gives me plenty of time to be organised and up to date with Splintered by this time!

Synopsis: None… yet! Rest assured when I know more, you will also know more!

Thoughts: OMG IT’S HERE!!!! Julie Kagawa, easily one of my all time most favourite authors has just released the cover of The Iron Traitor! I got into this series fairly late in the game compared to most, but I think in the space of a month I had read The Iron King, The Iron Daughter, The Iron Queen, The Iron Knight and The Lost Prince. It was a lot of iron books to read in that space, but honestly, I couldn’t get enough. And so I am pumped to see that this is coming out in October (Still… why so far away?!).

In the time being, I am getting my Kagawa fix with The Eternity Cure from her other series “Blood of Eden”. Soooo good.

Synopsis: None… yet! Rest assured when I know more, you will also know more!

Thoughts: Ann Aguirre has a new series! I loved her book Enclave (yet to finish this series) and her writing is fantastic! She is releasing Perdition this year. I love the sound of this book, it sounds like something I would be really into. The cover I am undecided on. I like the look of the girl, I think it says a lot about the story itself and what to expect. But I don’t like the font or colour of the cover all that much. Still, I feel this book will be quite good!

Synopsis: WELCOME TO HELL

The prison ship Perdition, a floating city where the Conglomerate’s most dangerous criminals are confined for life, orbits endlessly around a barren asteroid.

Life inside is even more bleak. Hailed as the Dread Queen, inmate Dresdemona “Dred” Devos controls one of Perdition’s six territories, bordered on both sides by would-be kings eager to challenge her claim. Keeping them at bay requires constant vigilance, as well as a steady influx of new recruits to replace the fallen. Survival is a constant battle, and death is the only escape.

Of the newest convicts, only one is worth Dred’s attention. The mercenary Jael, with his deadly gaze and attitude, may be the most dangerous criminal onboard. His combat skill could give her the edge she needs, if he doesn’t betray her first. Unfortunately, that’s what he does best. Winning Jael’s allegiance will be a challenge, but failure could be worse than death…

Thoughts: I am not too sure what I think about this cover? I can’t say that I love it, the design isn’t really gripping me, but that being said this book SOUNDS like a winner. I am yet to read any of Kami’s work (however I am soon rectifying this with Beautiful Creatures) and I know she has a bit of a cult following. I expect Unbreakable is going to be quite a big release! It’s due out on October 1st.

Synopsis: I never believed in ghosts. Until one tried to kill me.

When Kennedy Waters finds her mother dead, her world begins to unravel. She doesn’t know that paranormal forces in a much darker world are the ones pulling the strings. Not until identical twins Jared and Lukas Lockhart break into Kennedy’s room and destroy a dangerous spirit sent to kill her. The brothers reveal that her mother was part of an ancient secret society responsible for protecting the world from a vengeful demon — a society whose five members were all murdered on the same night.

Now Kennedy has to take her mother’s place in the Legion if she wants to uncover the truth and stay alive. Along with new Legion members Priest and Alara, the teens race to find the only weapon that might be able to destroy the demon — battling the deadly spirits he controls every step of the way.

Suspense, romance, and the paranormal meet in this chilling urban fantasy, the first book in a new series from Kami Garcia, bestselling coauthor of the Beautiful Creatures novels.

Late last year I read and reviewed Burn For Burn, the first book in this series, and I really enjoyed it!! It was dramatic, and ended on a real cliffhanger! So I am really wanting to know where Fire With Fire takes us now!

No synopsis as of yet (Come on!!!!! lol) and we’re waiting until September for more, but at least we now have a cover! I can’t wait! I love the consistency with these covers and the same models!

This series has just had the most beautiful covers!! I read Alice in Zombieland last year, and I really enjoyed it – although it needed MUCH more Alice in it. I liked the quirky titles of the chapters, but the story itself bears no parallels with Alice in Wonderland. Knowing what I know about the first one, I am not expecting many parallels again in this one, BUT I do enjoy the story itself and I am hoping this one is just as good!

Synopsis: Inspired by the childhood classic Alice in Wonderland, this harrowing and romantic story features teen zombie slayer Alice Bell who has lost so much—family, friends, her home. After a strange new zombie attack, Alice fears she may be losing her mind as well. A terrible darkness blooms inside her, urging her to do wicked things. The whispers of the dead assault her ears and mirrors seem to come frighteningly to life. She’s never needed her team of zombie slayers more—including her boyfriend, Cole—than she does now. But as Cole strangely withdraws and the zombies gain new strength, Ali knows one false step may doom them all.

Stephanie Perkins – one of the authors I said last week was on my ‘auto-buy’ list (that is, I’ll buy anything she publishes automatically because she’s THAT good), has just unveiled the beautiful cover of her new book Isla and the Happily Ever After. I love this! It makes me miss New York – that unique and wonderful skyline teamed with those vibrant shades of green. I can hardly contain myself! Unfortunately, we’re waiting until September for this one!

Synopsis: From the glittering streets of Manhattan to the moonlit rooftops of Paris, falling in love is easy for hopeless dreamer Isla and introspective artist Josh. But as they begin their senior year in France, Isla and Josh are quickly forced to confront the heartbreaking reality that happily-ever-afters aren’t always forever.

Their romantic journey is skillfully intertwined with those of beloved couples Anna and Étienne and Lola and Cricket, whose paths are destined to collide in a sweeping finale certain to please fans old and new.

*breathes deep* Hoooooollly smokes. We have a new cover here! Just One Day has so far been my favourite book that I have read in 2013 (and I have read some incredible books too!). Finally, the cover for book two is here – and it’s written from Willem’s perspective! This is so perfect, because I so badly want to know exactly what happened to him after Allyson left. Why did he go? What happened? Did he look for her? Tell me all of these things! I am fully expecting we should get some really solid understanding of the story in full after reading this one!

Synopsis: Companion to JUST ONE DAY. It will be in Willem’s POV.

“Can you fall in love in just one day? Can you become a new person? How about in just one year? In JUST ONE DAY and its companion novel JUST ONE YEAR, sheltered American good girl Allyson “LuLu” Healey and easygoing actor Willem De Ruiter are about to find out against a guidebook-worthy array of foreign backdrops. Equal parts romance, coming-of-age-tale, mystery and travel romp (with settings that span from England’s Stratford upon Avon to Paris to Amsterdam to India’s Bollywood) JUST ONE DAY and JUST ONE YEAR show how in looking for someone else, you just might wind up finding yourself.”

I so badly want to read this series – soon I promise! I bought Breathe at the start of this year and I’ll get to it fairly soon I hope.

The cover for Resist, the second book in this series has just been revealed and it’s just gorgeous. The first cover is beautiful purples, and the same cracked earth and dome, and they are just a perfect match. I really am a fan of these covers!

No synopsis on Goodreads as of yet for Resist as it’s not scheduled for release until October this year. Definitely a series to keep your eye on!

I love this cover! I haven’t read the Hourglass series, but I love the consistency of these book covers, they look really good!! This book is coming out on July 9th!

Synopsis: The stakes have risen even higher in this third book in the Hourglass series.

The Hourglass is a secret organization focused on the study of manipulating time, and its members — many of them teenagers -have uncanny abilities to make time work for them in mysterious ways. Inherent in these powers is a responsibility to take great care, because altering one small moment can have devastating consequences for the past, present, and future. But some time travelers are not exactly honorable, and sometimes unsavory deals must be struck to maintain order.

With the Infinityglass (central to understanding and harnessing the time gene) at large, the hunt is on to find it before someone else does.

But the Hourglass has an advantage. Lily, who has the ability to locate anything lost, has determined that the Infinityglass isn’t an object. It’s a person. And the Hourglass must find him or her first. But where do you start searching for the very key to time when every second could be the last?

The cover for The Dream Thieves is here! Sequel to The Raven Boys, this book is scheduled for release in September this year

Not 100% sure how I feel about this cover just yet. I did like how the cover of The Raven Boys had a silver/pearl type cover but I’d need to wait until I saw a physical copy of it first to know if that’s the plan (The Raven Boys looked like a white cover on Goodreads also, but it’s silver and gorgeous).

No synopsis on Goodreads for The Dream Thieves just yet… painful! Maggie, please at least give us a hint of what is to come?! If it’s anything like the first book, I know it’s going to be a really awesome read, but unfortunately for now it seems like it’s the waiting game… (I am not very good at that game fyi).

I’ll post more information when I have it, but definitely a book that is going on my ‘to be read’ list in 2013!

A new Amanda Grace book is here! I read her last book called But I Love Him which was quite a serious YA novel themed around domestic abuse in a teenage relationship. It was one of those books that wasn’t pleasant to read due to the content, but it was an important book to read because it carries a deeper message and makes you think about what you would do if you or your friends ever found themselves in a situation like that.

There’s not much said on Goodreads about the synopsis for The Truth About You and Me so far except to say that this book is about a 16 girl enrolled in a college-level program, who has an affair with one of her professors, which I am guessing from the title is being kept hidden (for obvious reasons).

Not sure what angle this book will be told from, but I am really keen to know more about this one! It doesn’t even state when in 2013 it’s going to be published so it’s all a bit of a mystery at the minute, but once I know more I will let you know!

Keep your eyes peeled!

The Fairytale Retelling series is special to me as Sisters Red was one of the very first books I ever reviewed on this site. :) Cold Spell is a retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen. Unfortunately this is not out until November this year, but I will patiently wait for it.

Synopsis:

Kai and Ginny grew up together–best friends since they could toddle around their building’s rooftop rose garden. Now they’re seventeen, and their relationship has developed into something sweeter, complete with stolen kisses and plans to someday run away together.

But one night, Kai disappears with a mysterious stranger named Mora–a beautiful girl with a dark past and a heart of ice. Refusing to be cast aside, Ginny goes after them and is thrust into a world she never imagined, one filled with monsters and thieves and the idea that love is not enough.

If Ginny and Kai survive the journey, will she still be the girl he loved–and moreover, will she still be the girl who loved him?
