Hey readers!!

I cannot even begin to tell you how pumped I am for the giveaways I have coming in the next few days. Firstly, before I talk about it – I just want to say that I met Gayle Forman tonight! Eeeeeeeeeee! She was the sweetest ever. She was one of my top 5 authors before, and now I won’t lie, she’s my all time fave. It’s awesome to meet someone and they are even better than you expected. I’ll post some pictures tomorrow as well as a write up of the discussions the panel (Vikki Wakefield, Myke Bartlett and Gayle Forman) talked about tonight.

Leading on from this – Gayle was very kind to sign a copy of Just One Day for me, as well as one for Kristy and a third copy for a VERY lucky winner on this blog. In the next few days keep your eye out for the rafflecopter (pics included of what Gayle signed!) to enter. I have decided to make this international as well, so it’s going to be huge!

Second giveaway is thank you to Harlequin Books Australia. I am giving away two copies of Dare To You (Pushing The Limits #2) by Katie McGarry. I am very excited to be reading this book myself in June, and so this giveaway will be coming in the next day or two. It is open to Australian residents only though unfortunately (or if you have an Australian mailing address).  Keep your eyes peeled!

And thirdly, my standard monthly giveaway is back! Tomorrow, I’ll be posting my standard monthly giveaway with 12 new June release YA books to choose from and two winners will be announced at the end of the month.

So you’ll be seeing lots of things in the next few days! Exciting times at Book Nerd Reviews! Stay tuned. :)

Hey readers!

Okay, so I’ve had a bit of a mini break, and I feel like I’ve got myself in a much better place to continue with my beloved website. :) I’ve also been thinking about how I can best diversify this site and make it all that I know it can be. And in order to do that, I have to concede that I cannot do this alone. What I’m asking for is some help from you guys.

I am looking for co-reviewers to be a part of Book Nerd Reviews!

At this stage, I am not sure how many – I figure I will gauge that by the interest that I get. I am looking for people who read YA books and love them as much as I do.

I am also interested in people that love graphic novels and comics, (you don’t have to love comics AND YA, I would look at a couple of different people for this). As I mentioned in my last post, I am not opposed to the idea of adding some different types of reviews up here, and there’ll be some comic reviews coming shortly.

The only thing I am asking is that if you don’t already blog at another site. So this request is specifically for those of you out there who love reading but don’t currently post your reviews on another blog (Goodreads is fine though). I’m also interested in people of all ages, including if you’re a teenager also – I think it’d be interesting to read YA reviews from a teenagers perspective.

If you’re keen to come on board as a staff member of Book Nerd Reviews (profile page and all), please email me at booknerdreviews@gmail.com, and if you could send me a sample of what your reviews would look like, just so I can see if you fit what I am looking for that’d be awesome. I’ll email you back from there and see what we can bring to this site.

I’m excited about the potential this site has, and about the future! I hope you guys are too. x

Today marks 2 years since Book Nerd Reviews started! When I first started this blog, I had absolutely no expectations or concept about how big this blog would eventually become. Usually I lose interest in projects pretty quickly, but not only am I still doing it 2 years later, but I am still really enjoying this, and can’t imagine myself NOT doing this. I am lucky enough to be able to continue doing this blog, and sharing my bookish thoughts with you all along the way.

So this is ultimately a thank you. To each person who has visited my sites, and especially to those of you who come back again. Thank you for your comments, your tweets, for supporting my giveaways and for the friendships I have formed with some amazing people in this time.

The book blogging community is a great one for the most part, and I’ve only got amazing experiences up until now. My friends know who they are (Yes you bloggers on Twitter!). Your support has been fantastic.

Here’s to my 2nd year blogoversary! Make sure if you haven’t done so, that you enter my blogoversary giveaway happening right now!

Bye bye Google Reader. :(

It’s the end of an era. Google Reader is going to be no more. Which sucks… because this is how I have always preferred to read my favourite blogs all in one place. It was convenient – you add in the URL’s of all the blogs you love, and it presents them on one feed in order for you to scroll through and enjoy. How good is that?

So now I’ve been on the hunt for something to replace Google Reader and I think I’ve found it. It’s called Blog Lovin’. How does it work? You sign up, either through email or through your Facebook account, and if you’ve used Google Reader previously like I have, it imports all of your blogs over for you (I was most impressed with this aspect of it – not having to manually import my blogs!). And the presentation of the blogs is pretty good too really!

So those of you who are using Google Reader to follow Book Nerd Reviews, I’m going to suggest you find a new way of following. Whether it’s subscribing to the blog via email (to the right), RSS or if you’re going to jump aboard the Blog Lovin express, you can follow me there!

Here’s how: Follow my blog with Bloglovin

If you have other suggestions for me to make it easier for you to follow me, you can always let me know via inbox (booknerdreviews@gmail.com) or Twitter (@booknerdreviews).

x

OMG guys!!! April 24th marks two full years since this site was born, and not only can I believe that I finally found something I love enough to stick with for this long, I am still enjoying it immensely and am telling you now that this is one birthday of many to come!

I like birthdays. I like making people happy also. So this month, there are going to be a bigger selection of books to choose from and there are going to be many more winners than the standard two per month that I’ve been having at the moment!

In April, five…… (FIVE!!!) winners will each get to select one of the below books of their choice. All of these books are brand spanking new April releases and there are some amazing titles to choose from! I am pumped! Anyone can enter, as long as The Book Depository delivers to you!

You can choose from:

Taken (Taken #1) – Erin Bowman
The Elite (The Selection #2) – Keira Cass
The Program (Program #1) – Suzanne Young

Current Cover Trend: Big Bold Type

Happy Australia Day to all my fellow Aussie bloggers and readers out there!! I hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating everything that makes us Australian. :)

I was on Goodreads this morning having a look at the upcoming 2013 releases when I noticed a pattern emerging with some of this years releases. I saw enough of them to make me wonder if there’s a new trend about to emerge. Big BOLD type. The kind that takes up the whole book space. And if the word is too long, just continue it on the next line. I like it. :) Here’s just some of what I found this morning:

The Lives We Lost – Megan Crewe

Invisibility by Andrea Cremer

Frozen by Melissa de la Cruz

‘Til The World Ends – Julie Kagawa

Rush – Eve Silver

The Prey – Andrew Fukuda
